For Carnival, there will be no video mapping from Thursday, February 8th to Saturday, February 10th in Izamal

Mérida, Yucatán, February 7, 2024. The General Director of Culture, Mauricio Díaz Montalvo, informs that due to the carnival festivities in Izamal, the video mapping "Senderos de Luz" will not be projected starting tomorrow, Thursday, February 8th, until Saturday, February 10th.

This was also communicated by the Director of Tourism and Economic Development of the Municipality, Carlos Alejandro Itzá Mex, in a letter addressed to the state agency.

As described by the municipal official in the document, this is "due to the traffic disruptions caused by the parades of the troupes and artistic presentations in the Historic Center of the city."

We inform all tourists so they can take precautions if they had planned to see this audio-light show. After the mentioned period, this cultural event will resume its regular schedule.

Senderos de Luz: What to see and schedules...

This video mapping, which lasts 90 minutes and consists of four stops with mini-projections starting from the Cañones Park, involves a walk where the visitor embarks on a "journey" to learn about the history of Izamal, important historical figures, and the Green Gold Era, when the henequen industry was at its peak. Additionally, you can learn interesting facts about the houses in the Historic Center.
